Amy & Ian’s Wedding Photography – Woodhall Hotel Wetherby – 29th January 2011

A very cold, but sunny day for a wedding in Yorkshire, I was to receive a very warm welcome to the home of Margaret and Robert, Amy’s Mum and Dad. It was a very pleasing start to the day, perfect for the Bridal preparation to start. With Amy still away at the hairdressers it was my opportunity to get the detail shots of the beautiful dress and shoes. It was so calm that it almost felt that there was no wedding on and I may have been in the wrong place. Amy duly arrived home and assisted by her Bridesmaids got in her dress. Amy looked stunning in her flowing dress and we had a few minutes opportunity to get some shots of the Bridal Party and Mum and Dad before I was to leave.

It was then time to make the 35 minute Journey to Woodhall Hotel near Wetherby to meet up with the boys, Ian, Best Man Alan, Ushers Luke and Oliver supported by Ethan.

Woodhall Hotel is one of those venues that is simply gorgeous no matter what time of year. With a long flowing drive leading down to the hotel, sat amidst acres and acres of grounds, whatever the season, Woodhall is a truly beautiful place to hold your wedding day. As a Yorkshire wedding photographer, it is one of our favourite venues. Good choice Amy & Ian!!!!!

The boys were eagerly awaiting my arrival to get the finishing touches sorted out with their attire. It was not hard to see that Ian was a mixture of calm, excited and nervous all at the same time with an overall air of ‘fun’. The call was then received informing us that the car was delayed, but Ian just took this in his stride and waited patiently. It wasn’t long before the arrival of Margaret and Bridesmaids Sally, Helen, Becky, Cassie, Rheanne and Betsy signalled the slightly delayed arrival of Amy. The pride in Ian’s eyes was there for all to see when Amy walked down towards him. A beautiful ceremony with beautiful personal vows and it was now time to congratulate the new Mr and Mrs Weeks.

After a drinks reception, where the happy couple got to spend some time with family and friends, it was time to head out for the group photos. As it was a very cold day we decided to head in to the warm and continue inside, before I headed outside again with Amy and Ian for some photos on their own and more importantly have some well earned minutes together to talk to each on their own for the first time as a married couple.

Finally, it was time for the wedding breakfast and the first course followed by first speech from a very proud Dad, Robert. With plenty of stories to tell about his daughters early years, it was on to the main course before Ian’s chance to say his words and show us all how proud he was to be part of Amy’s life. The dessert course was then followed by a very amusing speech from Alan who did his best to embarrass both Ian and Amy with stories from the past.

Finally, it was time for me to say my goodbyes, let everyone enjoy their evening and leave knowing it had been a fantastic day with a wonderful couple.

Amy & Ian – thanks for putting up with the cold – you are the best!!! I hope you enjoy looking at the photographs as much as I did taking them.
